Registration Opens May 1
Adaptive Soccer Practices is a collaboration with the Minot Soccer Association and will take place at the North Dakota State Fair Grounds in the Commerical 1 Building on Mondays in May at 5:30 P.M. Games will take place on Thursdays at 5:30 P.M.
Adaptive Golf is held every Monday morning at the Vardon Golf Club. This program offers adaptive participants the chance to enjoy and improve their golf skills in a supportive environment. Whether new to the sport or with some experience, participants will receive personalized instruction tailored to their needs, building skills and confidence.
All Kids Swim Camp combines the fun and learning of our All Kids Swim program with a special summer camp experience. This camp is designed to help kids aged 4 and up improve their swimming skills in a small, supportive environment. With a maximum of 5 kids per session, participants will receive personalized attention while enjoying structured swim lessons that focus on building confidence and technique in the water.
Adaptive Open Swim at the Minot Family YMCA offers a relaxed and inclusive environment for swimmers of all abilities. Whether you want to practice swimming skills, enjoy the water, or simply cool off, this open swim session provides a welcoming space with adaptive support as needed. Lifeguards will be on duty to ensure safety.
Adaptive Rock Climbing at the Minot Family YMCA provides a safe and supportive environment for climbers of all abilities. Whether you’re new to climbing or experienced, this program offers a chance to build strength, confidence, and technique with guidance from expert instructors. Adaptive equipment is available to ensure a successful experience for all participants.
Adaptive Track & Field provides athletes of all abilities the opportunity to develop speed, endurance, and coordination in a supportive environment. Participants will engage in a variety of track and field activities tailored to their needs and abilities, promoting fitness and skill development.
Sibshops provide a space for siblings of children with disabilities to connect, share experiences, and have fun. These sessions include games, discussions, and peer support in a relaxed environment. Pizza will be provided by Papa John’s.
The Prairie Grit Adaptive Sports Golf Scramble is a four-person, 18-hole scramble tournament held at Vardon Golf Club. The event follows a shotgun start format with two groups per hole. Registration includes meals, a Prairie Grit hat, tees, and cart rental.
Experience an exciting evening of adaptive shooting at Velva Wildlife Club! Try your hand at shotguns, bows, crossbows, and rifles in a welcoming environment for all abilities. Safety gear is provided, and personal equipment is welcome. This event is designed for ages 8 and up.
The Annual Brady Samson Memorial Water Sports Day takes place each summer at Hahn’s Bay on Lake Metigoshe, near Bottineau, ND. This event offers adaptive participants a full day of water activities including adaptive water skiing, kayaking, and paddle boarding. Space for water skiing is limited. Lifejackets will be provided if needed.
iCan Bike Camp is a nationally recognized program that helps individuals with special needs learn to ride a two-wheeled bicycle. Over five days, participants build skills in balance, self-starting, stopping, and independent riding. This camp takes place at the Minot Family YMCA and is open to adaptive participants ages 8 and up who meet specific physical and behavioral requirements.
Adaptive Fishing Day is an annual summer event held at Van Hook, ND, open to adaptive participants ages 5 and up. Participants spend the day on the water learning to fish alongside experienced local anglers. Fishing takes place from boats or pontoons, with a power lift available if needed.
Wheelchair Basketball Camp is a three-day summer program at the Minot Family YMCA, open to adaptive participants ages 8 and up. Players of all skill levels are welcome, from beginners trying the sport for the first time to experienced athletes looking to sharpen their game.
Adventure Camp is a family-friendly weekend event held each summer at Triangle Y Camp, offering Prairie Grit participants (ages 5 and up) and their families the chance to experience camp together.
Adaptive Cheer Camp offers participants ages 5 to 12 the chance to learn basic cheerleading skills in a supportive and inclusive environment. The camp is led by the Rugby Panthers Cheer Team and focuses on movement, teamwork, and building confidence through cheer routines and fun activities.
Little Gritters Sports Camp introduces adaptive participants ages 3 to 6 to a variety of sports and movement activities. The camp is designed to help young children explore sports in a supportive environment, with adaptations that make participation fun and successful for all abilities.
Prairie Grit’s Adaptive Dance Camp is held each summer at the Minot Family YMCA. The camp is open to adaptive participants ages 5 to 15 and focuses on movement, music, and social connection in an inclusive setting.
Prairie Grit Power is an adaptive strength and fitness class designed for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. Led by certified instructors, the program focuses on building strength, improving endurance, and developing confidence through adaptive exercises. Sessions take place at the Minot Family YMCA.
Adaptive Gymnastics Open Gym provides a structured yet flexible environment for participants of all ages to explore movement, build strength, and develop coordination.
The Parent Support Group provides a welcoming space for parents of children with disabilities to connect, share experiences, and gain valuable resources. Meetings focus on self-care, advocacy, and navigating challenges, with guest speakers and discussions tailored to the needs of attendees.
